Douglas is an internationally known recording artist and performer of music featuring the Native American flute. Recognized as one of the most accomplished flutists of today, he has released 18 CDs which have been heard on radio stations and TV music channels worldwide including Pandora, Soundscape, Sirius, NativeRadio.com, and ReverbNation.com.

The highlights of Doug’s career include winning 10 national music awards including the Indian Summer Music Awards for “Best Contemporary Instrumental” and “Best Native American Flute” and the Native American Music Awards for “Flutist Of The Year” and “Best New Age CD”. In total, Douglas has received over 50 various award nominations and has been a voting member of the Grammys in the Producer’s & Engineer’s Wing since 2007.

Lecture Description

This is a hands-on workshop designed for those interested in learning how to play the Native American flute. Basic techniques, scales, and creating songs will be focused upon as well as adding embellishments to your playing. Flutes are provided so that the student can learn the basic techniques necessary in order to begin playing and enjoying the instrument. Music is an important part of our lives and the Native American flute is easy to learn and fun to play.
